Sauron rebuilds his smashed empire with more evil allies!

After many months away from the Shire, I returned from my travels across Middle Earth, to see that the power of Sauron was still being felt, long after the Previous Summers battle. After the battle of the 3rd May 2007 many of us knew that although the Battle had been won - the war was far from over. As reported in some of my last entries 'Gollum' had sneaked away from the Battle, although wounded and mourning the loss of his mate on the battlefield - he had returned to his dark lair to hatch his return with his new 'lie spinners' Gothmog & Wormtongue. (New Actors for the second part of our trilogy) Many months had passed and during this time secret meetings with Sauron had been held to plan the return of the Orc Army to the Shire.

Sauron, a former Elve Officer within Helms Deep had been banished into the wilderness by the Witch King and Saruman in 2002 - although driven insane by the rejection, his over riding goal is the destruction of the Elves and the Fellowship, so strong is this desire, a pact with his former enemies was a price worth paying for Shire wide domination.

Wormtongues plan, endorsed by Sauron was to adopt a strategy of scare mongering and Lie's throughout the Shire. An Orc patrol, led by Gothmog was tasked with the delivery of a Golden Parchment (Focus leaflet) across Aston District - the document toxic in it's vitriol and negativity.

The scribblings are a masterclass in its conception, a heady concoction of lies deliberately designed to mislead: Before I had warned that the Lib Dem commanders had been given explicit instruction from their former Chief of Staff to 'lie shamelessly and stir endlessly' Their newest Commander in Chief (Calamity Clegg) had also adopted this mantra and viewing his forces from afar he was proud that his foot soldiers in the Shire were following his orders to the letter. Lib Dems, like a piece of Blackpool Rock have 'Lie shamelessly and stir endlessly' running through their very core.

'Elves Shut 'Your' Swimming Pool Gollum hissed as he rushed around the suburbs of Edoras (St Annes), The 'Out of Focus' parchment failing to tell the truth that the Fellowship of Elves was a long way down the path of delivering a much improved scheme that would see the residents of the Shire able to relax and bathe in comfort and safety within the Shires Capital.

At a meeting in Mordor (Kirkham) Legolas had persuaded former Orc Sympathisers that, being masters of their own destiny would be the best way forward and that by reclaiming their baths from Orc control was the best plan of attack. The Baths at Mordor had been an importantly outpost for the Witchking and her Ringwraiths for many years, the pincer movement by the Elves on the night of the 3rd March had routed the Orc's and opened up a glimmer of light for the Villagers held captive in the Orc's Mordor stronghold.

The re-building of the Shire has begun, yet the Elves have to be on their guard more than ever as the network or spies and Orc Lie Cells being put together by Wormtongue and Sauron will attempt to poison followers of the story for their own 'dark' gain.

My return to the Shire has been timely - the campaign will be hard and the 'Battle for the truth' long and arduos, my quest as the webmaster will be to ensure that the Shire does not fall into the hands of Gollum, Sauron and the Witch King

The 3rd of May - Experience the final Battle for Helms Deep

40 Elves had started the quest to save Helms Deep, the final attack on the Elven Strong hold had been fierce, after a four year struggle this would this be Sarumans finest hour? The Elves were prepared for the hardest battle ever in their quest to protect and save the Fylde, they were fighting for Coast and Countryside! Aragorn and the fellowship rode out to meet their destiny.

The clash began as dawn broke of the 3rd, Eleves attacking Orc positions in a brave attempt to force the mutant invaders from the Shire once and for all, Orc's had planted imposter's in the safe enclaves of both Edoras (St Annes) and Erec (Lytham) , their task to bring guerrilla attacks to the Eleven Heart lands. As expected the fighting in Mordor was the bloodiest, brave Elven Lt Proctor was badly injured from a venomous swipe of the Witch Kings sword, but he will survive to fight another day. Elves Welsh, Oldfield and Mitchell managed to break into the inner sanctum of Mordor and have now set up a permanent stronghold in the Privy Council of Mordor, this small heaven, prepared by the villagers of Mordor will act as the operational heart of an Elven fight back in Mordor.

The battle raged through the night and into the 4th - the final struggle was fought within Erec. As the forces clashed some brave Elves were lost, but many Orcs had been driven from the Shire for ever! The webmaster suspects that this will not be the final figure?

The battle has been won, the fellowship has survived the Orc offensive with Aragorn's forces strengthened. Across middle earth the elves had defeated the Orc masses, the neighbouring territories coming back under Elven protection.

The fellowships quest is far from over, new characters may now well become a part of the diary, both Saruman, the Witch King and Sauron have been defeated for now, but, they are still out there!!!

Chapter 14 - The Armies Clash tis the final battle

The last battle for the Precious has begun, the two thousand year quest for the precious is now drawing to a close, Saron, Saruman, Gollum and the Witch King all working together to defeat the Elves and to deny the Elves the precious. Frodo has protected the fellowship and fought many battles alongside Aragorn, the journey has been a long one, and this week the Hobbits may well be called upon to help the Elves defeat the Dark Forces :

Gandalf and Eomer had spent many days in the saddle to get to Mordor with the urgent dispatch for Villagers. The document contained vital plans for the re-building of the ancient fort, should the Orc's be defeated on the 3rd. The plans show how Elven Taxes could be spent and clearly outlined how light would be directed onto the market square in a bid to make the environment as uncomfortable as possible for Orc's. The Witch King had sent Urik-Hai troops to try and head Gandalf off, but he had managed to break through the Orc Lines. The previous dispatch issued by Gandalf was intercepted by Orc sympathisers and they hurriedly convened a meeting of market traders to try and undermine the Elven plans for a Traders Summit in Mordor. The Elves are used to Orc's tactic of adopting Elven pledges as there own. As a recruiting drive to the ranks of the Dark Forces the Witch King and her second in command, from the Dell sector of Mordor have stolen EVERY Elven pledge and have tried to pass them off as their own. The Elven detachment detailed to help the resistance in Mordor have been fighting hard, Elves Welsh, Oldfield, Proctor and Mitchell have fought hard to prepare the way for Aragorns army. Orc's leaders which sit on the privvy council of Mordor had used a little known weapon known as the the Mordor Advertiser, to try and disrupt Elven progress in the dark forces stronghold. The advertisers content was cunningly written by the Council commanders of Mordor, the article designed to cause maximum damage on impact, these 'dirty weapons' are an Orc speciality. Elves are used to countering their effects and the villagers of Mordor have been given a valuable insight into how low the Orc's can stoop in thier desperate attempt to hold on to their final territory.

Both Legolas and Elrond have taken up positions in the Wesham sector on the outskirts of Mordor, the clash with Gothmog drawing closer.

Aragorn and Elve Hyde having almost cleared the Heyhouses sector of Edoras of Orcs and Gollums sneaks, will join the Elves in the final attack. The next three nights will see many clashes on the road to Mordor and the final battle field. In the coming days the tactics will be to disrupt the witch King and panic the Orc soldiers now massing in the Plenoor fields.

Legolas and Gimil will meet the Rohirrim forces, rendezvousing with Aragorn, the journey to Mordor will be dangerous, no one knowing what they will encounter as they pass across the boundary from Gondor to Mordor:

The Elven Commander of the Southern Sector of Mordor, Elven Lt Proctor has suffered many sling and arrows from Orcs this week, the Witch King swooping over her territory is suspected os spreading half truths about the brave Elve. Lt Proctor is fearless in his quest and his troops are ready to retake Mordor South, but the witch king will fight to the death. Venom, fire and brimstone will be her weapons of choice. The witch king can be beaten Eowyn has taken on the King before and in their last encounter, the battle of the housing department the witch King was driven from the walls of Helms Deep.

Final orders are in place Aragorn now leading the final charge on the gates of Mordor, the Elven detachment within Mordor is out numbered yet could hold the key to the retention of the precious, on the eve of the 3rd Aragorn will lead the last attack.

Chapter 13 - Chronicle of the 19th April - The final March begins

The great barrier being proposed in the neighbouring Kingdom of Rhun (Preston) has villagers worried this week, the great river Anduin starts high in the foothills of Rhun with the waters running from the mighty Iron Hills in the East. The waters are a vital key to life for man and beast across middle Earth. Snaking it's way through the four main Kingdoms of Middle Earth Rhun (Preston) Rhovanion (Wyre), Lindon (Blackpool) and finally ending its journey at the sea in Gondor (Fylde) The mouth of the mighty River opens up into the Celtic Sea. Elrond the Elven Lord from Westminster is keen to protect all aspects of the Shire, the the mighty river is the life blood of the Elf haven of Rivendell. Sauron was also recorded in the Chronicles, a rare event when the Dark Lord puts his own name to a statement!! However in his Dark way he managed to spread worry by claiming that Rhun would stop the waters flowing into the three Kingdoms and would also build a trading link across the Anduin to the South Port, the throw away remark designed to panic villagers in Erec and Edoras. Aragorn had sent a rider to the King of Rhun (Cllr John Collins) to request an audience.

The Elven river of gold has failed due to the lack of rainfall in Edoras, Elf Wilson had spent many weeks preparing the Capital for the annual celebration of blooms yet the gods have not sent the annual April showers! the drought could also affect the green fields in Erec, the Elves will have to be wary that Orc's do not try and use the Chronicles to blame the Shires stewards for the browning of the Green this year.

An army of Metal steeds arrived in the Capital of Gondor this week. The 6000 strong army arrived from all over middle earth to the new annual festival of Ridesafe. The motorised hordes of the race known as 'Bikers' are regular visitors to Gondor and Edoras and bring with them vital trade and currency for the Kingdoms traders. Aragorn himself a master of the metal steed may well call on this nomadic race on the 3rd?

As opposing forces marched across middle earth Saruman had been hiding in the Shadows, whilst Sauron had again fired up the Counterbalance to keep Orc soldiers supplied with a weapon known as negative spin. The negative spin is used to great effect by Orc's in luring unsuspecting villagers into the darkness. The Witch King had also used the weapon against Legolas and Elf Proctor, detachment commander in Mordor South sector. The Witch King had tried to undermine the Commander by spreading untruths about the Officers Elven credentials and his claim to be from the Shire, the witch is suspected to be behind a dispatch sent to Elven Leaders in the Palace of Westminster! The evidence of Orc involvement compelling! The skirmishes in the Southern sector of Mordor are becoming increasingly bloody, Legolas had also been involved in a brush with the King of Mordor, her ambush was sprung using the weapon known as the Standards Board. The Witch King had already claimed the scalp of one Elve, five summers earlier using this cruel weapon. Although one of the King's preferred weapons of combat the Elves had learned to counter it's effect through battle experience. Legolas this time using the weapon on the King herself.

The detachments in the Mordor have fought hard all week, pushing back Orc forces and freeing Villagers from their negative spells. The Portal opened by the Elve detachment in Mordor is sending out a beacon Light for villagers to follow to the rallying points. http://www.kirkhamtory.info/ The numbers of new recruits to the Light are swelling and many villagers are now preparing for the final push on the third.

Gandalf has spent many days regaining his strength after fighting his way through the Kiln House sector. His task is to again set out for Mordor with another powerful message for traders, the final clash with the Witch King will be devisive, the Fellowship is now ready to drive the Witch King and her followers from Mordor once and for all.

Chapter 12 - Sauron sponsors another Orc's Portal

As the opposing forces marched ever closer to the final battlefield the skirmishes in the towns and Villages across the Shire have increased. Elves have been out on the streets across the Shire warning villagers to be aware of Orc incursions. The Witch King and her fellow Ringwraiths have been unmasked by Sauron in an attempt to give a human appearance to the witches coven. Sauron's Counterbalance had been working overtime and in his desperation to counter the Elves Portal, Sauron has financed another FIG mind weapon targeted towards Mordor. The Elves see this as a final attempt to build support for the Dark Forces.

Villagers must be aware of the cyber opening at www.fyldeindependents.org.uk The Ringwraiths listed have some Lieutenants missing?? but the main characters from the Elves Site are there! This portal again proves Saurons influence on the Orc's and more importantly reinforces the Elves 4 year campaign to show villagers that the FIG are still operating within the Shire and are a united force or GROUP. The site has been enlightening for the Elves as Saruman warned of the massed ranks of FIG's marching across the Shire on the 3rd. It appears that just the Witch King and her loyal wraiths remain??

Aragorns own portal www.heyhouses.com has in recent weeks attempted to counter the content of the FIG site in an attempt to open the minds of villagers in Mordor.

The FIG site spun by Shelob using the words of Sauron, is full of inaccuracies and is deliberate in its attempt to sound Elvish, beware! After many hours of reading the various texts available and researching the truth I hope to unravel the facts for all followers of this adventure: Saurons commandments expose the depth of the Orcs hate for Elves and the Fellowship and their sole commitment to retaking the precious.

The first statement shows the pact amongst Orcs "We share a Vision" This commandment makes the reader believe that those members of the Council outside of the fellowship have no say? This I have reported on many times, highlighting the fact that 100% of all decisions taken by Aragorn and the other 7 members of the fellowship have been recommended and accepted by the Elves and Orcs prior to a final decree being made. The fellowship only enacts the Councils wishes. The fellowship only make urgent command decisions, for example Gimils decision to allow the riding of steeds on the Coastal bridle path.

"We are not a political party" those that have followed the Elves diary will know that to be false. Perhaps they are not committed enough to pin their colours to the mast, but this statement means that they will put their own sectors (Wards) in front of a collective benefit to the Shire. The decade of decline in the Shire came as a result of Orc commanders failing to make a decision on anything. Consensus is a much lamented myth and villagers will agree that to get a collection of 51 individuals to agree a way forward is impossible. Hence the decade of decline.

"We do not hold caucus meetings" is another pledge in the Orc tablets of deceit. The Battle of the Budget was well reported. Saruman and the Witch King held court with many Orc's prior to the Battle to discuss their tactics. The Orc's met until recently, each month, the shadowy meetings only being halted by Saruman after descent in the ranks and the escape of the Hobbits back to elven lines. This episode caused much discontentment within the Orc ranks with rumours that the Orc Commander was plotting to overthrow Saruman.

"We are totally opposed to the cabinet system at Fylde" Again a pledge of convenience by Saruman. Both Saruman and the Witch King were in full support of the fellowship (Cabinet) system when they accepted a seat within the court of Helms Deep offered by Aragorn. For a year they moved freely around the Deep receiving the bounty of 3500 gold pieces. Twas only through Aragorns suspicions being proven, that the two were passing vital Elven intelligence to the Orc's and Chronicles, which led to their debarring from the Court. It was this expulsion that fuelled their dislike of the fellowship and led to the pact to bring it down.

"We will change the way Scrutiny Operates" I have already mentioned the fact that ALL policy decisions already go through the various scrutiny committees for development and approval prior to going the Fellowship. The Shire has been recognised across Middle Earth by many other tribal leaders as having an open and inclusive way of operating it's legislature. Elves have been detailed to travel to many Kingdoms spreading good practice and sharing the art of re-building crumbling Kingdoms. This the Elves have mastered. This tablet again misleads villagers into thinking that the ancient law of majority rule can be overturned! At the battle of the 3rd there will be a victor. If the Orc's were to recapture the Shire the Dark Forces would have superior numbers on every committee. This is the ancient law of Political Balance. A pledge to scrap the Balance is undeliverable as this law comes from a much greater power than that possessed by Sauron and all his forces combined. (Unless he is thinking of standing as an MP and then becoming Prime Minister Sauron?!) Even if the Orcs were to return dismantle the fellowship and return to the ancient "talking shop" way of governance then, there would still have to be Political Balance and by default one Army with a majority.

For many days the Elves and Hobbits have spent many hours with Village elders explaining the failings of the Orc Policies. Those exposed to the dark Forces mind tricks have been cured by the Elves home visits, none have suffered long term mind damage. (Oh, sorry, I believe there was a chap in Edoras that couldn't be cured?)

With just 12 days left until the final clash the webmaster will keep a constant vigil on events to ensure that the Villagers of the Shire are protected from Saurons mind spells. The Elves are also out in force in pursuit of Gollum and his sneaks, there are rumours of sightings across the Shire yet to date Rhohirrim Cavalry have been unable to locate the treacherous band, even my constant trawl through the local chronicles have failed to discover Gollums whereabouts.

As the Elves now start to move into Mordor the closing chapters of the Elves Diary are sure to record events as they unfold.

Chapter 11 - Chronicle of the 5th April - FIG's! I'll pass

With the campaign now under way, Saurons negative Counter Balance weapon swung into action. Its duel role, to add confusion to the minds of villagers and to provide Orc soldiers with ammunition, which can be used as they pass through the Town and Villagers of the Shire on the way to the final Battle field on the 3rd. As the brain behind Saruman and the Witch Kings strategy Sauron had badly miscalculated the number of troops that he thought he could have brain washed into taking up the Independent and Ratepayer cause, he had also sent out a negative dispatch to the residents of the Shire, talking of a superior force that would dominate and destroy the Elves on the 3rd.

Saurons mind powers are continuing to fail. This new force had already fallen into disarray! the new Division named the FIG, made up of Ratepayer and Independent Councillors was seen by Sauron as a new dark Pollit Bureau for Fylde. Recruits to the FIG cause had panicked when the final muster and roll call was called, many deserted for the hills, others seen scurrying back to their old camps, leaderless! Saurons scrapping of the fellowship would see a return the days when Saruman, the Witch King and Wormtongue ruled over the Shire, silently making decisions and plotting the destruction of Helms Deep, Sauron even acknowledges in his dispatch that his former Dark Army got it very wrong . The scale of their treachery only discovered by the Elves after the 2003 war. Sauron was a former Rhohirrim Lieutenant. Stationed in the Helms Deep Garrison, he started to practice in the Dark Forces, eventually recruiting Saruman and the Witch King to his cause. Once it was becoming apparent that the Elves were about to retake the precious, Saruman and the Witch King moved Sauron to the safety of Mountain Doom.

A golden handshake gifted to Sauron by Saruman ensured that the Dark Lord had the much needed funding to finance the building of the Counterbalance. Many villagers unaware that this agreement will be funded from their taxes until Sauron leaves middle earth.

Aragorn, had ensured that every member of the Forces of Light were drilled in fighting the dark lords powers, their armour and weapons forged in the heat of the furnaces of Helms Deep, during the four year re-building of the Shire. All ranks have the future of the Shire in their hearts.

The Chronicles have been bombarded this week with Orc's! Although not surprising the Final Call to arms has flushed out Sauron's closest allies. Some have been operating in the privy Council of Edoras! now exposed these Orc soldiers have now shown their true colours. Followers of the adventure should take note that many Orc's will now use the chronicles to try and indoctrinate residents of the Shire to their cause.

The Urik-hai (Orc) raiding parties have also been dispatched across the Shire in search of the webmaster. The chronicles acknowledged the 6000 strong followers of the adventure. The Witch King, understandably frustrated at her failure to expose the author has rounded on many an innocent villager and Elve alike. In desperation the Witch turned to the Marshalls of Mordor, ordering that they dispatch a pose to arrest a lieutenant of the Forces of Light. The officer had been handed the commission of commanding the Rhorrim Cavalry detachment on the outskirts of Mordor, by Aragorn. Her accusation that the Lt's Commission had been made against the ancient scriptures. This underhanded plot failed to produce the desired outcome for the Witch King and has resulted in creating a positive under current of resistance in Mordor. Aragorn and Theoden had arrived at the rallying point in the heart of the Shire, ready for the final push:

On the Coast Gimils successful mission at the battle of the Coastal Strip is now seeing the vital trading route being returned to full access for all. Villagers were out in force promoting the trail to all. The Fellowship (Cabinet) system has shown that long standing 'taboos' can be resolved sensibly and quickly for the benefit of villagers. For over a decade Orc's failed to agree on anything! the parochial nature of Orc's mean that they are unable to work together and will turn on each other if they feel that their territory is under threat, even if it is for a greater cause. The Orc's single agreed goal is to scrap the fellowship and return the Shire to the disarray of the decade of decline.

Gollums forces had been focused by Saruman on defeating the Hobbits, Frodo, Pippin and Sam had learned a valuable lesson is dealing with Gollum during past encounters. Now in the Rural villages of the Shire Gollums crack sneaks have a taste for the precious, spurred on by Gollum, they will now do his bidding. The combined Forces of Light have a permanent watch on Gollum and his troops, they cannot be trusted!

Chapter 10 - The Opposing Armies are deployed!!

Today marked the start of the March to the final battle,the call to arms for the Eleven and Orc Armies had now been closed. The battle for Helms Deep and the Precious has now 'officially' started. The forces of light are the single largest force, with recruits coming from far and wide to support the Elven call to arms.

The Elves are forty strong. After a long battle Theoden has been successful in driving back the dark forces from the staining and weeton settlement once and for all. He now rides with his army to support the Elves about to deploy from Helms Deep.

Saruman was thought to have been driven from Isengard, yet he has escaped detection and has now returned unchallenged! Isengard (Elswick) will remain under the Dark Lords negative and damaging powers for another four summers. Shelob had benefited from a similar oversight, skulking in the Dead Marshes Shelob has kept 'out of sight, out of mind' and again will remain on guard in the foothills (Singleton) of Isengard for another 4 summers. Travellers entering the Marshes or the boundaries of Isengard must remain ever vigilant or fall prey to the Dark Lord or his arachnid servant. Saruman, with the Witch King at his side, could be seen viewing his troops. Could the smell of doubt be detected now that the impending final battle was close at hand? What was their destiny?

Across the Shire the fellowship had been alerted to the numbers of Orcs marching on their positions, the completion of Elven defences of Helms Deep were completed. Elves have been hard at work for months, busily delivering dispatches, talking with freedom fighters in Orc territories and planning their battle strategies. The Forces of Light, led by the Fellowship are ready for the 3rd.

Gollum had mustered 16 soldiers to help support Sarumans 23 Orcs in the Summer battle, Wormtongue, had been removed as the commander of the Ratepayer division of Orcs during the winter, this leader less army has marched to Isengard and 7 soldiers have now pledged to join Saruman and his FIG army. Finally 10 Blairite Insurgents have been seen riding towards Mordor, displaying their red battle colours. Elven spies have reported to Aragorn that they are to join with the Witch Kings Divisions, mustering in the dead marshes outside the garrison. The foul plot which could see the fall of man across Middle Earth, hatched, between Saruman and Wormtongue had begun:

The final numbers are, Forces of Light, 40 soldiers, the collective divisions of the Forces of Darkness, 56. The Elves have had many years fighting against such odds and in the Spring of 2003 defeated similar numbers with just 32 soldiers. The die is cast the armies now march to meet each other on the 3rd.

Aragorn has prepared the Elves for the fight and today, with Eowyn at his side they rode out into the Shire to meet Sarumans army.

Chapter 9 - Chronicle of the 28th March

The opposing forces clashed in Erec this week, Aragorn and the fellowship were out in force. The Dark Forces were led by the Witch King as Saruman and Wormtongue failed to arrive at the battle field. Followers of the adventure can view this weeks battle now:

The 'Precious' is the ultimate goal. Manuscripts written by the Elves lay out the future for the Fylde, when finally the Dark Forces be defeated and driven from the Shire. These enchanted records are a record of the Elves commitment to the Shire. No such documents existed prior to the war 0f Summer 2003.

Gollum had been unusually quiet for a number of weeks? Elven spies had discovered why! Gollum had been deep in the heart of the shire working with Saruman and Sauron to undermine the elves. The message to be adopted by the Orc's was hatched from Gollums long term policy of 'lie shamelessly and stir endlessly' this decree had come via a dispatch from a former Orc commander, based in the Palace of Westminster his name was Kennedy. Gollum had used his teaching to spread the Orc policy of negativity.

An elven spie had captured Gollum out canvassing for support in Edoras, his attempt to be seen as trustworthy and well groomed had somehow been lost somewhere? Villagers across the Shire should take heed, the only way to recognise that you have Gollums infiltrators in your midst, is through their desire to wear a brooch of gold on their lapel.

Saruman had also been hatching his strategy for the May campaign. Saruman had ordered the Witch King to send a counter dispatch to the Chronicle to try and undermine a pledge made by the Elves. The Eleven pledge was to review stabling of villagers chargers across the Shire. A sensible policy that would not lead to unnecessary financial burden on villagers or merchants. Gimil had already carried out his pledge to reform the stabling in Edoras (St annes) The market centre now had clear boundaries in the stables so residents were under no doubt as to where to leave their steeds.

The Witch King in a blind panic when learning of the pledge decreed 'free stabling for all' across the Shire, without mentioning to villagers that Ringwraiths would soon be swooping of the Shire for much more tax as a result! A meeting of the fellowship was convened to discuss the damage this Dark Forces Pledge would reap on the Shire - the estimated cost to villagers, 500,000 gold pieces every year! Orc's would raise taxes by 10%, 60 gold pieces per dwelling across the Shire. The Elves will fight to the last soldier in the May battle, as the destruction of Helms Deep and the Shire was already obvious if Orc's were to succeed!

The Chronicle reported the departure from the Shire of an Old Friend of the Elves Bilbo Baggins (Cllr Eric Bamber), Bilbo had been a loyal defender of Helms Deep for 34 years. His many battles with Sauron and Saruman over the ages had been well documented and will go down in Eleven history. This distinguished Hobbit has been recognised as a Alderman of the Shire and his tales of his adventures will be missed. The Forces of Light wish him a safe passage in his future adventures.

Spring has now turned to Summer in the Shire, the Rhohrrim troops and Elves had spent many days clearing the Coastal Strip of Sand. Now the battle had to be 100% focused on the March to the final Battle. Just 72 hours remain until the sounding of the 'call to arms' horn within Helms Deep. Elves, Humans, Orcs and Ringwraiths had travelled from the far corners of the Shire to Helms Deep, this week to take advantage of the short amnesty called by Eomer.

The amnesty hosted every four years at Helms Deep is called the ceremony of 'Nailing Colours to the Mast' The tradition has been unchanged for 33 years, Orc's wear two main colours under their armour: Red or Gold, some, the Elves Believe, are attracted to the colour Blue. An Orc would soon be slain by Saruman or the Witch King if they were to be discovered looking towards the Light.

The ceremony ends at noon on Wednesday. Villagers will then know whether their villages will be under siege by the Orcs or the protection of the Elves. Elven warriors have been arriving in the Shire from all over Middle Earth, many parchments have been left for villagers in recent days, asking for them to join the Elves en-mass on the 3rd May. Those willing to fight will receive their battle orders and a list of Rallying points from Eomer in just 3 weeks.

As the week drew to a close a massive negative wave, emanating from Mordor was sent out across the Shire. The message written by the witch king, yet delivered by her head Ringwraith, the commander of the Dell Garrison in Mordor was devastatingly gloomy. The negative Wave was translated by an Oracle in the neighbouring Kingdom of Blackpool. The Wraith tongue is hard to decipher, as those whom read too much can fall under the dark spell of the Witch King. The message read that the Elves were planning some sort of attack on the Spa within Mordor?

The Witch King, although devious is also predictable. Her simple plan is to always report the opposite of the truth to the villagers of Mordor, negativity is a very powerful weapon! Elves had rebuilt the Spa when they were last stationed in the ancient town. During the 12 years of Darkness the Witch King and Saruman had decreed that no gold was to be spent on rebuilding in the Shire. As a result the Spa, along with so many facilities in the Shire had fallen into disrepair. Legolas had been forced last summer to close the spa as bolts of lightening were seen emanating from the walls of the ancient bathing site, the threat of harm to villagers was deemed great! Frodo and Legolas dispatched a crack unit from the forces of light to the Spa, their task to push back the Orcs, remove the danger and return calm to the waters of Mordor. This was done.

The Elves recognise the healing benefits of the Spa and the need for villagers to use the waters to build strength and train young lings. Villagers must be warned that a return to the years of darkness could see the Spa doomed by the change of the next season.

Four brave Elves will be dispatched to Mordor by Aragorn at the close of the 'colours to mast' ceremony. Their task to rally the villagers of Mordor by helping to dilute some of the Witch Kings powers, this dangerous quest should enable those villagers strong in will to build up enough resistance to help topple the Ring Wraiths and their grip on Mordor on the 3rd of May. The villagers must get to the gates of Mordor by the 3rd, if they are able to link up with the Forces of Light, then Mordor will fall.

Chapter 8 - Chronicle of the 22nd of March - Elves enter Mordor

The Elves had revealed some of their pledges to the Villagers of the Shire, subject to a successful campaign in the Spring. The quest for the precious was intensifying. The determination of Gollum and his fellow mischeif makers was now very obvious. With Gollums help the Dark Forces hoped to worry the Shires folk into pledging an early allegiance to avoid later retribution. The fellowships powers are strengthening and their Garrisons are rested, they are better prepared than ever to stop Saruman and Sauron. It is a time for the Elves hold their nerve.

The Chronicle reported Gimils return to the matter of residents, handling and resting their steeds close the places of teaching for young lings. The practice of irresponsible tethering of steeds on busy routes, close to the Shires teaching places, will now be monitored by Marshalls and Rohirrim soldiers. Gimil has had many skirmishes in recent weeks and the Elven Council, supports the troll's determination to bring 'common sense' to the Shire.

The chronicle stays with issues relating to young lings, acknowledging the vital work done by villagers in Erec in supporting facilities for the towns youth. This is a strong positive message, one which should be noted by those kept under the spell of the Witch King in Mordor. Villagers are a valuable resource to the Elves and the commitment by them to support 'Friends of Groups', should act as a catalyst to roll back the forces of darkness across the Shire.

The Rohirrim troops began the work on the access gates to Edoras this week. After the 12 years of Orc occupation destroyed all but the foundations of the Capital, the Market centre is now almost re-built, the final phase will see the cold winds from the West diverted away from the busteling centre. It is hoped that Villagers and Merchants will then be able to go about their business vertically, rather than at a 90 degree angle!

The Chronicle last week reported the dangerous sortee into the heart of Mordor by Aragorn and Legolas, their mission to make contact with Merchants sympathetic to the Forces of Light. To this aim the quest was a success. The Witch King was soon alerted to the Fellowships encroachment of Mordor by the Ringwraith tasked to guarding the 'Dell clearing' Gandalf's despatch called for a meeting of Merchants to discuss the forming of a Brotherhood as well as sending a positive message of light and hope for the future of Mordor should the Orc protectorate fall in the Spring. The Ringwraiths hurriedly convened a shadow meeting of their own, trying to reinforce their dark spell on the merchants. Such is the power of the Witch King many villagers are unaware that she wears three crowns, one which she wears in Mordor, the other in Helms Deep and the last one in the County Palace in Preston. The Kings stranglehold on Mordor, not only isolates it's villagers from the rest of the Shire but is slowly squeezing the life blood from the ancient fort through lack of real action. Her spells are strong and the fight to lift it from Mordor will take many Elves.

Aragorn was busy with the issues of sand in Edoras again this week, most of the Sand Grown Un's for the capital are prepared for the seasonal hardships brought when the drifts appear. In living memory, the Rohirrim Troops have cleared the drifts from the boundaries of the towns folks dwellings, without the need for Gold to cross palms. This long standing practice continues. A suspected Orc sympathiser attacked Aragorn, with a cowardly low blow, regarding his inability to hold back the sand and collect every grain from the byways of the Shire. Aragorn has thick armour. Villagers know that this Orc instigated criticsm is both unfounded and untrue. However, I suspect Aragorn and Eomer are wise to the murky waters of the tabloid chronicles and will know that they have to ensure better preparation of tactics when dealing with Chronicle Oracles in future. Aragorn was finally acknowledged in the Chronicle for rolling up his sleeves and tackling the issue of littering, in all a busy week for Aragorn in the pages of the Chronicle.

The fellowship was also concerned that villagers were unaware of the pledge to refund all gold to those villagers that had purchased an annual bathing permit for the Edoras Spa, during the period of its repair. Villagers are able to claim back their gold or will receive an extension of their Spa pass to for the period of the spa's closure. Soldiers despatched from Helms Deep have worked tirelessley in an attempt to get the healing Spa re-opened, but the strom damage had been extensive. Safety must come first, Legolas has said, the Brokers from Zurich will ensure that the fellowship gets back all the monies lost through the storm damage and the loss of spa users income. Taxes across the Shire will not rise as a result.

Gandalf has spent much time on the issue of Mordor. How to use his powers against the Dark Lord and the Witch King was the challenge, when yet another negative message had been drafted in a despatch to the Chronicle. The challenge he faces is: 'how do you plan for a battle that will have no end'? The void of Darkness cast by the Witch King could never be closed until the King was driven from Mordor and Middle Earth for ever. Every time Sarumans loyal follower opens her mouth or puts quill to parchment the 'spell of lies and half facts' is again cast over whom ever hears or reads the words. Many in Mordor have had the spell lifted by Gandalf, but there are still many dwellings that will need a visit, by the White Wizard and his Elven troops. The issue of how much Gold is spent in Mordor is not the issue here, it is the very future of the Witch King which is at the heart of her despatch. The 200,000 gold pieces to be spent on the memorial gardens will need to be increased, now that Eomer and his troops have discovered that the very foundations of Mordor are being rocked by the years of neglect under the Orc Occupation. The Witch King taxes villagers in Mordor 8000 gold pieces every year for the Village Hall, which sits at the crest of the Memorial Gardens, when the very ground it sits on is crumbling! Why when the King committed huge sums of the Villagers taxes to the Hall did she not ensure that the foundations were strong? Yet again the Elves will ride to the rescue, and support Mordor in it's hour of need. The Town Council ruled by the King should be raising more money to help rebuild Mordor, it's has no other purpose but to run the Hall and act as a trophy for the King. Elves had pledged to return the keys of Mordor to the villagers.

The King has again shown it's inability to retain and transfer facts gathered from within in Helms Deep to the villagers under her command. The commitment to long term spending in Mordor by the Elves, runs from year to year. Her tactic is to confuse and cast doubt. Elves are aware that Orcs are damaging Mordor. At the battle of the budget the Elves pledged two extra CCTV cameras for the Borough, by doing so this enables the ones located in the Forts grounds by our allies in the Safety Partnership, to remain longer, as the two new ones can be used elsewhere - Eleven logic as opposed to Ringwraith half truths. The mobile camera unit will again be supported by the Elves and added too as a useful weapon against evil and nuisance in the Shire.

The cost of the stabling block in the market centre in Mordor costs Elves 40,000 gold pieces a year to retain as free for villagers and merchants. The upkeep of the stables is also a commitment that elves have pledged to retain, this will be borne by villagers from across the Shire. Those are the facts but the King decries them, splitting hairs and words. The input of the Fellowship in returning Mordors' long departed Market centre clock, will be the next fact denied by the Witch King!

Gandalfs word is true, the recent despatch delivered fact - the powers of light eminating from within Mordor are starting to weaken the Witch King. Villagers must take heed that the worst of the storm is still to come.

Readers will be unaware of the second chamber of Elves within the Shire. Elven and Human Elders sit on the Council known as the Local Strategic Partnership (LSP or Fylde Vision) All members of the Fellowship Cabinet sit at the table of the LSP supported by Elves from within Helms Deep and humans from supporting clans such as; Marshalls, Healers, Merchants, Holy Men and Forrest protectors to name but a few. The Fellowship works hard with the LSP to ensure the Shire is protected. The Central Ward in Edoras will benefit from the multi agency gold pieces pledged. Villagers, Merchants and Young Lings will all see the many benefits from the pledged 300,000 gold pieces. The higher chamber has also pledged that when finished in Edoras in 2009 they will bring light to the South Ward in Mordor.

Legolas and Elve Wilson were keen to show that the forces of light have began to return the treasurers of the Shire back to Helms Deep. Many treasures were damaged or left to rot by the Orc's during their 12 year reign, many villagers had never known such treasurers existed. Legolas and elve Wilson set about ensuring the ancient tapestrys and colours of the Shire were put back on display for all to enjoy. The gates of Helms Deep will be thrown open to villagers in a bid to bring enlightenment to all that gaze upon them. A festival of celebration will also be held in Edoras to celebrate the repair of the moat bridge at the Capitals Eastern access. After the many months of hardship experienced by merchants, Elves are keen to see them rewarded for their patience and commitment to the Market centre.

The role of an Elven defender to the Shire is known as being a difficult task, the fellowship always knew that the 4 year struggle and the final battle in the Spring would bring heartache and casualties. Arwen had given away her 'Lifes Grace' to Aragorn, it's power had protected him during the many battles against Sauron and Saruman. The price to be paid was her own protection!! Whilst taking part in a campaign to push back Orc insurgents in the Central Ward of Edoras Arwen was attacked and wounded whilst delivering a despatch from Aragorn and the fellowship to a villagers dwelling. Although removed of her Elve powers, the healing properties of Light were quick to heal her wound. Arwen is eager to return to the fellowships side yet she will now wield her sword will a gauntleted hand!

Chapter 7 - Chronicle of the 15th March

The Elven Cabinet met this week to discuss the long term future of the Shire. After their success in the Battle of the Budget, foundation stones had to be laid. Arwen's gift of being able to read the future is a great asset to the fellowship, her calming, thoughtful nature settles the members of the fellowship before battle. With the Spring Campaign almost upon the Elve Army, Arwen was keen to ensure that the plans for both the future operations of Helms Deep and the Stewardship of the Shire were set in tablets of stone. If the Elves were to fall in the Spring the Orc's would have to spend many years to break the 'spell of light' brought to the Shire by the Elves. This would give the Forces of Light time to regroup and launch a counter attack before the Dark Forces finally destroyed the Shire.

Eowyn, a mighty warrior, has the experience of battles past. Many years experience of campaigning against the dark forces has been passed down the generations within her clan. At the Meeting of the Fellowship Eowyn brought forward her plans to ensure that the Shires settlements would see new grants being offered to villagers to help rebuild their homes after the May Campaign. Monies had also been agreed by the fellowship to support home improvements for villagers with failing health, or suffering from injuries from past battles. Eowyns task of overseeing the infrastructure of the Shires settlements is a daunting task, another area laid waste too by the Witch King during the 12 years of Darkness. Eowyns big heart is strong enough for the task.

Legolas and Gandalf were away when the Fellowship met, their task to spread the word of the Fellowship to neighbouring Kingdoms. A key task of the fellowship has been to ensure that Shire's guardians regained their right to sit at the table of kings (Regional and National bodies) across Middle Earth. Every member of the Forces of Light would have to spend many days in the saddle to earn this right again for the Shire.

Legolas brought forward his plans for the 'Hall of Laughter' located in the settlement of Erec (Lytham) Elven troops had worked hard on the Hall ensuring that it's infrastructure and foundations were sound. Legolas will take charge of the Halls operations, inviting jesters, jugglers and thespians from across Middle Earth to travel to the Shire to entertain the Town folk. The Halls future is now secure. Past Shire Entertainers were the focus of the Chronicle this week with a statue of former Court Jester Les being discussed. The bronze figure a fitting
tribute to a man that brought many years of laughter to middle earth. Although the jester was not a native of the Shire, he spent his final years in Edoras. Eomer and his Captains are looking for an 'appropriate' site for the Bronze.

Eomer was also keen this week to encourage villagers from across the Shire to take up task of representing the Shires Folk. Both the Forces of Light and Darkness are recruiting foot soldiers from Town and Village, to fight under their respective banners at the Spring Campaign. A Decree from the Palace of Westminster, which has stood for centuries, enables both Elve and Orc an automatic right to stand for the opposing Armies. Eomer, as Garrison Commander of the Shire will defend Helms Deep at all costs, during the 12 years of Darkness, when the Orc's commanded the Shire Rohirrim soldiers were forced to serve under the Dark Lords regime. Although confined to Helms Deep, the Deeps troops worked hard to keep a flicker of light burning across the Shire, ready for the Elves return.

Sauron and Saruman's new FIG army suffered it's second defeat this week. The two have spent months plotting their tactics for the Spring offensive, as part of the battle plans they had formed a new FIG Army. The new army is made up of soldiers recruited through the 'Civic Awareness' spell which Sauron cast across the Shire. Villagers whom drank from Sauron's 'fountain of lies' have been spellbound into fighting for the Dark Forces. The Dark Lord had prepared a new banner for his troops to march under in the Spring, Wormtongue had also committed his own troops to the cause, but Saruman had overlooked a vital part in the foundations of his plan! to register the new Dark Forces Army (FIG) with the Eomer and the Palace of Westminster!! With their old banners trodden into the mud of the Dead Marshes Independent and Ratepayer soldiers will now have no Battle Colours to rally under. Is this a sign for Sauron and Saruman? Orc and FIG troops were observed by Eleven spies breaking ranks and spreading talk of desertion. Elven Archers are renowned for finding such chinks in enemy armour during the heat of the battle. Sarumans ability to command his army are yet again in doubt, the Witch King will be ready to take over the Dark Lords command, should he fall.

The Spa in Edoras is still being re-built after the recent Coastal Storms, Frodo was keen to assure towns folk that the Spa would re-open soon, and that taxes would not be raised to fund the repairs. The fellowship had ensured that both the repairs and the loss of income had been protected through the Fellowships insurance.

As the week drew to a close Aragorn and Legolas rode out to Mordor as promised. Their quest, to hand deliver a dispatch from Gandalf to the Towns merchants. Moving through the Orc Garrison was difficult, the Glare of Sauron can be felt and the Witch King is omnipresent! As the wind howled and the rain fell Aragorn and Legolas moved swiftly to avoid detection. Our heroes were nearly discovered by a lone Ringwraith on patrol when skirting the outskirts of the 'Dell', their capture at this stage would have been a serious blow to the fellowship. Ringwraiths were on patrol across the open country of the Shire, Frodo and Samwise also came close to capture on the outskirts of Freckleton:

The parchment called for Merchants to rally to the cause of the Forces of Light. The fellowship listed it's past victories for Mordor and the future vision for the Orc Stronghold, should the Elves succeed in the Spring. Meeting with villagers in a local Inn in Mordor Aragorn was buoyed by the underground support for the Forces of Light, yet many villagers were scared that their feelings could be discovered by the Witch King.

The die has been cast in Mordor, the merchants and villagers should now step from the shadows to take on the Witch King and her band of Ringwraiths. The Elve and Rohirrim Commanders of the Mordor resistance will soon have to rally to their help.

Chapter 6 - Chronicle of the 8th March

As the Coastal storms that swept the Shire rescinded, the smell of a new season was in the air. However the sand that had blown into Edoras (St annes) was causing some villagers distress! The Rhohirrim Cavalry had tried hard to move the deposits (see picture on dunes) but this is a battle that cannot be won overnight. Elves are keen to look at a possible collection points for the sand, but will have to ensure that the Coastal defences of the Shire are not undermined as a result.

The 2000 new sapling additions which had been planted within the Walls of Mordor were strengthening their roots. After the recent Elven success at the Battle of the Budget, Rohirrim soldiers were busy planting another several thousand new trees in the Shire. These will be a welcome addition to the strength of the Fangorn Forest. After this recent battle success the re-building of the Shires enclaves has been given a new boost. Growth and re-generation is now in the air.

The chronicles highlighted the plight being faced by the Elves and Rohan Cavalry in protecting the Shires green spaces and watering holes, the picture of the two wet fish on the cover said it all. Gollum's favourite fare would now be in short supply for some time!

Elve soldiers guarding the Edoras settlement were concerned about the plans for a new Inn in the heart of the market. They met with the Fellowship. Following dialogue the Inn Keepers, the Landlords have withdrawn the sketches. Stabling Issues in Edoras in particular are still receiving much coverage in the chronicles, Shire folk visiting Edoras must be aware of the stable markings before leaving their steeds. Gimil has taken on this challenge and new boundaries will be marked out by Spring.

The Fellowship met to discuss the future of the Dead Marshes and, how the Forces of Light could continue their successful missions into the Countryside surrounding Minus Mogul. The area of Cirith Ungol (Singleton) is guarded by 'Shelob , the Spider of Darkness' the second generation of gate keeper's to Isengard and Minus Mogul. The area once under the protection of Elve Loftus was a vital link for the Forces of Light in the battle against the Dark Forces. Elve Loftus had to leave the Shire half way through his tour of duty and the Dark Forces had used this opportunity to recapture the territory.

The Dead Marshes earned it's name after Shelobs predecessors handed all powers of control for the provision sport and leisure facilities for young lings and Men alike, over to Saruman. Singleton Villagers are now forced to travel to the walled city of Isengard (Elswick) for their leisure provision. With their Independence lost the villagers of the Marshes region will need to assist in the return of the Elves to ensure the re-building of the outposts facilities.

Shelob is a vital link for the Dark Forces. Her stewardship of the Dead Marshes and the guarding of the Eastern path to Mountain Doom secures Sarumans hold on the territory. With her ability to freeze Elve and Man alike with her powerful venom and dark glare Shelob can often be found at the Witch King's right hand.

The Chronicles report of the Elven victory at the Battle for the Budget was well received by villagers across the Shire. The Battle marked a turning point for the Kingdom in that the fellowship proved it was determined to re-build town and village and use the power of positive to push back Sauron and Saruman. The monument in Erec (Lytham) being secured at the Battle now has an Elve detachment in charge of the re-building with Rohirrim soldiers being dispatched to start the works.

The Battle for the Budget also sent out a clear message to those villagers trapped under the spell of the Witch King, that the Elves were already putting in place foundations for the re-building of Mordor after the Spring Campaign. With the Dark forces removed from the enclave then the Elves would be able to make unhindered progress. The power of negativity is strong and many soldiers have been lost in past clashes with the Witch King. History has shown the Fellowship that whilst the Witch King is in Power the Gates of Mordor are impenetrable and Mordor's fate temporarily sealed. The Spring Campaign will be the Elves best opportunity for another four Summers to release the villagers and merchants of Mordor from tyranny.

The Elves will again ride out to Mordor this week to meet with resistance fighters operating from within the ancient fort's walls. Sarumans plans to scrap the Fellowship (Cabinet) of Elves would be a disaster for the Shire, his plan would return the Shire to the state of the 12 year darkness experienced before 2003, Rulers of the surrounding Kingdoms as well as those representing the Palace of Westminster have met with Aragorn to lodge their concerns at the risk to the continued stability of both the Shire and the rest of Middle Earth should the Shire fall to the FIG Army and the Dark Lord in the Spring. Their offer of Arms was welcomed. The FIG/Orc army believed to be 30 strong and massing within Mordor are being watched by the Elven resistance, their battle tactics passed back to Helms Deep.

The march towards the final campaign continues, the 4th April will see the Elves ride out to the far corners of Gondor for the final call to arms, rallying the Forces of Light, they will hope to strike at the very heart of Saurons empire.

Chapter 5 - The Battle of the Budget

Storm clouds had been gathering all week as the Orc and FIG forces marched across the Shire to meet the Eleven defenders. This was to be the first major battle on the build up to the Spring campaign, the battle field was to be the site of the Shires Sporting Pantheon.

Aragorn and Frodo had spent many hours preparing for the battle and Eleven and Rohirrim forces now stood shoulder to shoulder awaiting the first wave of attack from the Forces of Darkness. After weeks of planning the Fellowship had set in motion plans that would see the Taxes raised from the Shires people being used to strengthen vital positions across the Kingdom. Additional facilities for young lings, the return of Trees to Fangorn, re-building of the Shires Monuments and the protection of the Shires Coastal defences would all play a crucial role in the securing harmony within the Kingdom . Both Saruman and Sauron knew that the re-building of any part of the Shire would undermine them and in particular the Dark Lords plan's for total occupation of the Shire. This would be a battle that Saruman and his followers would have to win! As the Orc's approached the Battlefield Aragorn addressed his Army, urging them to stand firm, be strong in the face of fear and trust in the Forces of Light. There was not one soldier amongst them, that didn't accept that the Battle for both the Shire and Middle Earth itself was about to begin!

The first Orc attack was launched at 10 minutes past 7, as the first shadows of darkness fell over the Shire, Sauron gave the order. The Eleven Army watched as Saruman rose in front of his Gobblin Army to launch his first wave of attack, with the witch King at his Right Hand and Sauron over looking the battle field from his Dark Tower, Saruman pushed his forces forward. Wielding his mace the first wave of his Orc army, led by the Orc Commander clashed with the Forces of Light on the battlefield. The Elven line held firm and repelled Sarumans first attack. Legolas, Gandalf, Theoden and Frodo led from the front again and again as three further pincer movements were resisted and finally quashed .

These skirmishes led by the Witch King and then the Orc Commander were prolonged and vicious. The Cenotaph in Erech (Lytham) took a direct hit, but the Elve detachment guarding the Shires southern Coastal Strip fought off their attackers and held the Monument. The Orc's suffered many losses and FIG soldiers now under Sarumans command faltered, Wormtongue had deserted the Battle Field and left his loyal troops to perish.

The Dark Forces were weary and sensing defeat started to withdraw, Aragorn rallied both Elves and Rhohirrim Cavalry against the 5th and Final thrust from the Dark Forces. Two hours of bloody fighting had passed, the Orc and FIG armies were driven back from Gondor to the foot of the Morgai Mountains.

Aragorn and Eomer although bloodied and exhausted led their troops back to Helms Deep knowing that an important battle had been won this day.

Chapter 4 - Chronicle of the 22nd February 2007

The stabling of villagers steeds in the Market centre of Edoras (St annes) is causing hardship. In an early morning recce of the Capital Gimil and an elite troop of the Rohirrim Cavalry rode out to inspect the stable facilities and agreed that better indication of where riders should tether their steeds should be sort. The troop blacksmith has been detailed to work night and day to produce the stable dividers.

On the other side of the Shire in Mordor , the Witch King had discovered the door to the Elves Portal. Her eyes flashed with rage and in an instant orders were sent to the Orc Commander to launch a strong attack. Elve positions experienced a steady stream of sling shot and of armour tipped arrows from the Orc army. The attack was aimed towards the positions held by both Aragorn and Legolas. Fortune had smiled on them as at the time of the attack they were far from the outskirts of Mordor. False intelligence handed to the Forces of Darkness regarding the identity of the webmaster has Saruman and the Witch King committing their troops to the wrong part of the Shire. A silver tipped arrow fired into the Castle grounds of Mordor gave a cryptic clue to the witch King of the webmasters identity, the message "keep your friends close and your enemies closer" was all it read.

Gollum, was in need of rest after his many hours of sneaking around the Shire, sticking his nose into portals where it was not wanted. His Second in Command (as there isn't a third!)was detailed to continue the duo's sole task for the Dark Forces, to continue adding slurry to the drinking waters of the Shire. Villagers should take heed as they will do, or say anything to get their hands on "the precious"

Gandalf and officers from the Rohirrim Cavalry again rode out to Mordor in the hope of yet bringing light to the plight of the Villagers. The Witch King astride her Fell Beast swooped over the Mordor assisted by her Ringwraith colleagues. Using the powers of negativity, they are able to suppress a villagers ability to reason, clouding their view of the facts. A written despatch from Gandalf was handed to those not yet under the Witch King's spell, calling villagers to a Council with the Wise Wizard at the next full moon.

Saruman has used the threat of Elven taxation to try and rally the support of men in Isengard, In desperation at the impending attack from the Ents within the Fangorn Forrest. Saruman tried momentarily to soften his exterior, but this form change drains much of the Dark Lords powers and cannot be sustained for long. In the past the fellowship, supported by the Elves, have attempted to help turn Saruman back towards the Forces of Light, but in vein. The Dark Lords loyalty to Sauron is strong and the loss of the "precious" has driven them to seek the return of it's powers at all costs.

Frodo has been busy in Helms Deep, working with Aragorn on a long term plan to rebuild the Shire, the battle plans for the clash on the 1st day of March must consider the Dark Forces tactics, based on past battles. Eomer and his Captains will again fight alongside the Elves. They are well drilled and ready.

The Hobbits have been loyal Allie's fighting alongside the Elves since the Fellowship adventure started in 2003.

Frodo, Sam and Pippin were kidnapped by a Uruk-hai (Orc raiding party) 4 years ago. Their treatment by the Orcs whilst being forced to stand with them was severe. Aragorn, Legolas and Gimil rescued them from the Orc's before they were delivered to Isengard and Saruman. Sam and Pippin have acted as the eyes and ears of the Shires Eastern Flanks ever since. They are strong members of the fellowship. Sam has been selected to represent the Shire and the other Kingdoms of the Country on the Regional Council, he will help oversee the rebuilding of Middle Earths settlements after the Spring Campaign. Sam has already proved his bravery and ability in past struggles against the Witch King. Now he is keen to take on the task of the Shires Ambassador. Pippin remains in the East of the Shire working with the Ents in the Fangorn Forrest and with renewed vigour, awaits the next encounter with Saruman and the Witch King. As Aragorn plans the Spring offensive he knows that these Hobbits will play yet another critical role in the driving back of the Dark Forces.

Whilst the Fellowship and the Elven Council were hard at work rebuilding the Shire and the foundations of Helms deep, the turncoat Wormtongue was at work himself. Turning his back on the Rohirrim people he rode out to Isengard and swore his allegiance to Saruman. In doing so he placed his forces at the Dark Lords disposal. This act of aggression aimed at the Elves, from within Edoras itself, shows that Theoden and Aragorn were right not to trust Wormtongue and his words. The new Goblin army, known as the FIG (Fylde Independent Group) will now march on the gates of Helms Deep at the shoulder of the Orc Army.

The Gaze of Sauron has again focused on the battlements of Helms Deep. The fellowship must be ever vigilent against his powers! The Dark Forces powers should never be underestimated. Adventurers should click now to experience a recent encounter with the Dark Forces at a Cabinet meeting!

The Dark Forces plan, to destroy the fortress and make Mordor the centre of the Shire. The combined forces of Orc and FIG has declared it's commitment to destroy the fellowship and Elven Army and to return the Shire to the 30 year darkness which shrouded the Shire until lifted by the Elven victory of 2003.

In the distance the beat of the battle drums grow louder.

footnote: I must acknowledge the many new followers of the Cause, whom have contacted me via the portal. At the same time apologise to both Aragorn and Legolas. In intercepted despatches from the Orc Commander it seems I may have inadvertently put them both in harms way! Legolas in command of the Wesham protectorate fights in the shadow of Mordor every day, since the recent acknowledgement of the portal in the Chronicle the Orc Commander has sent many batteries of poison arrows into his encampment. Aragorn has also had to dodge many slings and arrows and defend against Orc spies eager to find the gates of the portal.

Sauron and I travelled very similar paths long ago, although in different Shires. His destiny led him to attack the very thing he worked so hard for, my destiny, now as a villager of the Shire is to try and defend it.

The Shires Battle of 2003 saw the forces of light push back Sauron, Saruman and the Forces of Darkness, after 12 years of occupation. With just one protectorate more than the Dark Forces our Heroes must plan their Spring Campaign carefully. Followers of our adventure are now familiar with our Heroes and Villains, it is now time to understand the territories within the Shire to assist you in recognising the rallying points when the Elves Spring offensive is launched.
There are 21 protectorates within the Shire. Some of them under the protection of the Fellowship the others, under occupation by the Forces of Darkness. Some settlements are divided into two, with constant clashes taking place. The Spring campaign for control of the Shire will be a like one never seen before in the Kingdom, the recent pact between Saruman, Gollum and Wormtongue has been engineered for one purpose only - to overthrow the Fellowship. The re-building of the Shire has taken four years of toil after the 12 year Orc occupation, it's continued existence now lies in the hands of all Villagers.
The impending struggle will require each and every supporter of the Forces of Light to rise up and be counted in the Spring.

A map of the Shire was hurriedly redrawn for followers of the Chronilces to study. The earlier one displayed on the Portal was stolen from Sauron by Rhohirrim spies. Sauron's powers are great, using his weapon 'the counterbalance' he infiltrated the Portal and destroyed the secret map of the Shire. His secrets have already been seen and a new protected map drawn by Elve scholars will soon lead you through the Shire.

Chapter 3 - Chronicle of the 15th February

The Eye of Sauron swept over the Shire again this week and discovered the Elves communication portal! The Orc army were drafted in to get the balance up to steam, busily adding fuel and fanning the flames. As the Counterbalance swung into action, some Elves complained of headaches and feeling the unusual urge to start evening classes? some have now signed up for new English Literature or Language classes. Amazing affect the counterbalance weapon can have!

Saruman the White Wizard of Elswick came out of his self imposed exile this week. His week of spell casting started with the dispatch of the Ringwraiths to the corners of the Shire, their task, to spread tales of excessive Tax rises and messages of doom, in a bid to muster support for an uprising. He warned that the small enclaves of the Shire should expect their treasure chests to be plundered, by the Elve Council Leaders when the Cabinet met within Helms Deep. How very very wrong he was!! Far from plundering the hard earned gold pieces from the Shires people the Elves kept taxes low and brought in new decrees that will see many improvements to the villages of the Shire. The Council of Elves were also keen to see the encampments of St annes, Lytham and even Mordor handed responsibility for lands within their jurisdiction, for the benefits of villagers living in their protectorates. Eomer and his lieutenants had done well in assisting the Forces of Light in the quest for equality.

A decree was made by the Council of Elves that the Monuments erected to honour our fallen heroes should be improved at all costs. The Monuments and their surroundings located in Lytham, St annes & Mordor will be restored to their former glory. Facilities for young lings of the realm were also granted additional funds to ensure that our future generations grow tall, straight and strong. The protection of the Coastal defences and Sands of St annes also featured highly in the Elve Councils priorities. The return of the trees to the Shire, as promised by Aragon to Treebeard were also given the Elves blessing.

The Dark Lords powers of Orc control have stood strong for almost four whole years, but Saruman is now showing signs of failing judgement and desperation as the Elves strategies and recent fortunes in isolated battles have pushed himself and the Orc army further back towards the boundary of the Shire. Before the Orc Army sized control of Mordor the Elves and Villagers would meet in a small clearing known as the Silver Dell. The Dell was a place of tranquility and reflection, the wood offered shelter from the elements, the crystal clear waters of the pond could then be used to bathe and refresh tired travellers. This was a place where bonds were strengthened and the villagers met to sing, dance, eat and reflect. Many local issues were discussed in the clearing. Sadly no more. since the invasion of the Orc Army the Dell has become centre of their operations in Mordor. The Dell transformed by Saruman and the Ringwraiths influence has become a cold and un-inviting corner of Mordor and an unwelcoming shelter for Elves.

The key tactic of the Forces of Darkness is to be constantly negative. The power of negativity has been used ruthlessly by the Witch King in Mordor. The constant bombarding of the Village by these negative waves has driven many villagers into a dark melancholy. The weapon has been successful in keeping villagers under the King's spell and in driving away anything positive. Arogan, Legolas and Theoden have spearheaded three campaigns into the Heart of Mordor since the Summer. Their hope, that the positive messages put through villagers doors will help lift the veil of Darkness which has overwhelmed them and realise that the rest of the Shire is basking in the Light.

Gandalf has pledged to ride out to Mordor with a select troop of Rohan soldiers to again bring light to those Rohirrim villagers still struggling on behalf of the Forces of Light within the Orc Garrison. It is the strong belief of the members of the Fellowship that our quest for strong trade and regular positive improvements for Mordor will help unsettle the Dark Forces vice like grip.

Aragon this week met with the Council Leaders from across the Kingdom to discuss both the increase of trade across Middle Earth and a more protection from them on the Shires Eastern flanks. Aragon and Legolas also sought to counter Gollums tales of woe that the Shires spa's were under threat. The healing qualities of these pure waters are vital link in the well being of Villagers and a vital part of our fledglings training towards becoming strong warriors. Legolas detailed a Brigade of soldiers from Rohan to the task of repairing the damage caused to the St annes and Mordor Spa's during the Southern Storms.

Gimil has been in action action again this week, working with a crack section from the Elve army he successfully defended an attack on the the Coastal strip of the Shire. An squad of ten Orc soldiers attempted to block the passageway for villagers travelling on the link between the two Coastal villages. The skirmish lasted over an hour, but Gimil and his loyal soldiers drove the Orc's back, with their tails between their legs they fled back to Mordor. But they will be back.

As another Chapter draws to a close our brave Fellowship have again fought hard for the Shire and now meet to plan future strategies. With wormtongue and the Orc Commander set to enter our next chapter the bond between the members of the Fellowship will be crucial. As darkness falls I feel that villagers can sleep sound in their beds knowing that the joint forces of the Elves and Soldiers of Rohan are watching over us all.

Chapter 2 - Chronicle's of the 8th Feb 2007

scene 1. Gimil has done well this day, his bold decision to allow self propelled vehicles safe passage along our shores has had the villagers of the Shire on the streets rejoicing. Six whole years the vortex of common sense consumed the Council, then led by the Orc Army. The dizzying complexity of this decision far beyond the capacity of the Dark Forces. Sauron at this time was still plotting his revenge after the last battle with Frodo at Mountain Doom, his advice to 'call-in' the decree made by Gimil has shown that his powers of judgement are still weak.

Theoden travelled in recent days to the Palace of Preston to negotiate with it's tribal Leaders for the continuance of the Shire Visitor safe haven in the village of Lytham. A noble cause. Prior to May 2003, the Orc Army had blocked all trade and dialogue from the Palace within the City. After the Elves successful campaign in the spring of 2003 their Leader Aragon called a truce with the Shires neighbouring tribes and ever since a strong allegiance has seen many trading benefits. Negotiations were constructive with both Councils re-enforcing their 2003 treaty and using their Council of Elders to find a solution to long term harmony.

During this time both Aragon and Gollum were at work within the Shire. Both with different agendas! Aragon assessing the damage to the Shire ,after the dreadful storms which had rolled in from the South of the Kingdom. He had met with Treebeard to give a timescale as to when the Forrest would return to the Shire, many trees had been lost at the hands of the Orc Army in Isengard and now the Elves commitment had seen 2000 more trees planted, with many more thousands promised. Helms Deep had suffered badly during the storms. The Elves are keen to rebuild the fortress after 12 years of Orc occupation, which had seen this mighty building diminish in grandeur. The Elves have done well, to quickly rebuild and the damaged structure and reinforce its battlements.

The taxes increased year on year by Saruman were squandered. Now this valuable but limited gold needs to be spent wisely on improving the whole of the Shire, Aragon is determined to restore the Jewel of the North. Villagers of the Shire have nothing to fear from excessive taxes being brought to bear under the elves, as the Council of Elders new allegiances with neighbouring tribes will see many benefits.

Gollum had again been using the cover of the shadows to spread his spite and ill will. His total belief in his cause and his innocent appearance can cloud villagers judgement and draw them towards the dark side. His recent attack on the Elves progress was both cunning as it was vengeful. The Elves 10 pledges are all but in place, but it has been a long road to delivery.

Gollum supplying Sauron with insider information has been successful in slowing the Elves progress and creating pockets of resistance from within the Shire. The minds of the weak are easy pickings for Sauron and Saruman. Their ability to cloud reasonable judgement, even in the face of overwhelming positive facts is disturbing to the Elves. Aragon knows that it is wise to keep such enemies close where they can be watched, however each night he rests with his trusty blade close at hand.

Frodo has been working for many months towards restoring the green Memorial Gardens enclave on the outskirts of Mordor Castle. The Witch King has fought hard to confuse villagers, made prisoner within the castle walls that Elves are bad and that the Orc's are their friends. Frodo has found over 200,000 Gold pieces for the green sanctuary, with another 130,000 Gold pieces being pledged this spring for the Village. The Ringwraith Elders within Mordor refuse all approaches from the Elves and have been symptomatic in the Villages decline. Mordors green space could be improved overnight if the Ringwraiths were to agree to end the 30 year war and take back ownership of Mordors green lands.

The Spring campaign will see much fighting around Mordor, for the villagers an Elve defeat would mean 4 more years of decline and dismay.

Gandalf has been working hard to ensure that the market traders in Mordor can still make bread although the Ringwraiths are working against his positive input. A Council of merchants is vital to help strengthen the Villages trade. Gandalf works regularly with merchant Councils across the Shire. Mordor is the only village without. Again much gold has been sent to Mordor in recent times after 12 years of Wraith decline. 75,000 gold pieces of new shop frontages, 30,000 gold pieces on a village survey and a pledge to retain free stabling for travellers visiting the Mill Street watering hole.

Again a week of small skirmishes for our noble knights, with the storm clouds once again rolling back from helms Deep, what adventurers and tales will the next entry into the Chronicles of the Shire bring?

Chapter 1 - Introduction to our story - Elves start their 12 week March to the final battle field

The loyal Elve Commanders of Fylde met today to discuss the next campaign and future anti ambush strategies. Casualties have been light as now the Elves have become familiar with the way's of the Dark Forces and their pattern of mid week attacks. The attacks are at the fiercest when the moon is full or when the local weekly chronicles are written.

The Elves Captains know that all their tactics are exposed with the Evil Sauron now ruling over the Dark Forces of Fylde. Sauron once a Brave Defender of Fylde and Elve Lieutenant, was drawn to the dark side and now plots his revenge against the Shire with the White Wizard of Elswick, Saruman. Using his deadly weapon known as the Counterbalance, the beam of his mind altering weapon has been focused on the ramparts of Helms Deep for many months. The Orc Army has used the weapon to try and break down the Fellowship but the walls of the Elve enclave are strong and the Elves powers of mind impregnable against his powers. The Forces of Darkness are now in panic, knowing that the Elves are know using their own weapon against them!
Fellow followers should be aware of the side affects of the Counterbalance: Heavy eyelids, dizziness and confusion.

With their 26 strong Orc Army, led by the Witch King from Kirkham the Dark Forces are massing somewhere in the darkest enclaves of the Rural Shire, feverishly planning their Spring attack. The Witch King gave orders to the Orc Army Commander to send out a spy, Gollum, to try and be-friend the Elves Commanders but his schizophrenic personality lets Gollum down and his trail of deceit is mysteriously recorded for eternity, in print in the mystical Chronicles of Fylde.

The scene is now set, the reader is familiar with the our heroes and villains and the lands that our heroes wish to defend and the villains to conquer. Each week we shall read the script from the weekly chronicles, with the 'Webmaster' unravelling the tales and legends recorded within. The webmasters quest to take you the fellow adventurer into a story of Hope, Fear, Betrayal and Honour. So follow me as we journey through the chapters of this epic struggle and marvel in the fortunes and battles from within 'the field' Shire.
